Shadow Objects
For the "Shadow Objects" exhibition we created a forgotten magic chamber where the imagination can build new realities, bringing together eight handcrafted objects each piece like a fable.
The objects are meant to be experiences rather than furniture admired for their aesthetic perfectionism. In this exhibition, shadows are a medium we decided to play with, twisting predictable paths and nature and giving the objects an extra dimension and character. We crave memories from childhood, imagining a forgotten culture – with all of its creativity – that attempts to make sense of their humanity and its nature, transcribing the feelings of abstractions into symbolic creations.
The materials for “Shadow Objects” have been sourced and hand-picked during walks in Georgia and Estonia, utilising walnut, oak offcuts from a winery, linden wood, and more.
The exhibition curator is Sandra Nuut and took place in the Estonian Museum of Applied Arts and Design.
