Egg blanket

Either subconsciously or by accident the hand has become a dominating shape in our blanket designs (the ones already made and future projects). The elegance of the hand silhouette works both on larger and smaller scales and stands out on the dark contrast background.

The hand and egg blanket was a sprint more than a marathon, stitching it for the Roma Diffusa exhibition at the end of September in one sitting, not moving from the table in 10 hours. The felted fabric combines naturally dyed wool from Estonia and white wool from Georgia, background fabric Soviet broadcloth found through luck in a second hand shop.

Technical information:

The piece is made out of hand felted appliqué from Georgian wool, stiched onto Soviet woollen broadcloth.

This piece is available.
