Hands blanket
The hand blanket idea came to be during a football match between friends from our home pub in Tbilisi. Inspired by the chaos and beauty of the fast intertwined legs on the field.
As a child Ulla spent a period of cold winters felting in her family home bathroom out of boredom and tapping into the tactile handy memory started working the Georgian wool for our blankets. There is a certain pride and beauty in deciding to "create" material from scratch for your projects, literally washing all your energy and stubborness into the felt.
Technical information:
The piece is made out of hand felted appliqué from Georgian wool, stiched onto Soviet woollen broadcloth.
