Seed bench

A bench covered with approximately 1800 goldenrain tree seeds. The second seed object we made with the same technique was a bench for the Milan 2023 exhibition. The seeds are glued into the holes one at a time by hand. It’s a tediousand time consuming process, which takes a lot of stubborness to complete.

Technical information:

The bench is made of Japanese pagoda tree (Styphnolobium japonicum), cut down for real estate development, with approximatly 1800 Golden Raintree (Koelreuteria paniculata) seeds drilled and glued into it. The bench is finished with boat laquer.
